Wind Measurement Campaign |
A wind measurement campaign is a detailed and accurate measurement of the wind resource on your site, to give as precise as possible predictions of the production from the turbine. A met mast requires planning permission, separately from the turbine itself. A minimum of 6 months’ data is required to give enough coverage of different weather conditions to fit the site into the region’s annual wind conditions and provide an accurate enough prediction.
Banks and investors carrying out their due diligence of the project will require extensive and accurate measurement and analysis of the wind resource on your site before committing to funding.
We are experts in offering a full data monitoring and analysis service, providing you with the maximised average annual energy yield for your project. Reports are produced at regular intervals during the campaign and at the end.
Grid Network Connection and Capacity Study
The DNO charges the project developer for a assessment and design study to determine the final cost of connection, the capacity available at point of connection and the details of work required to provide the connection for specific capacity and technology.
Some of the works may be contestible i.e tendered for completion by companies outside the DNO.
Obelisk can manage this technically challenging process on your behalf from preparing & submission of application, through DNO enquiries for clarification & further information, to assessment of the DNO's response.
