Obelisk Group scooped a prestigious national health and safety award at the National Irish Safety Organisation (NISO) awards held last week in Athlone.

Obelisk Group is delighted to announce the company’s health and safety team won the major award for Best Specialist Contractor in Ireland.

Padraig Brady, managing director of Obelisk said: “Health and safety is something we take very seriously within the company and I am delighted that our extremely high standards have been publicly acknowledged.”

He added: “I would like to extend my congratulations to our health and safety team and everyone else in Obelisk who helped us win this accolade.”

Obelisk Group prides itself on its health and safety procedures. Among the initiatives carried out is a near miss reporting system and a blame free culture. There is also a safety at work competition awarding €300 per month, a health and safety newsletter and an annual safety seminar.
